Callaway Golf Bags
Callaway golf bags are standard equipment that enables you
to carry what George Carlin refers to as 'stuff'. These would be your usual golf clubs, golf balls, golf shoes and
an endless list of accessories that you think you need to have a shot at playing like Tiger Woods.

In addition to their utilitarian value, your
choice of golf bag is also a fashionable expression of your personal style. You may not play like Tiger but a least
you can look good as you slice your way through the course!
So pick a bag that looks good, but before you
pick, determine first how you like to play the game. Some prefer to walk while others prefer to ride their
carts. Some are like pack rats carrying every known golf accessory under the sun while others can make do with
a couple of clubs.
With that said, here are a few golf bag types
to think about:
Callaway Golf Bags - Walking
Bags
The nice thing about walking through the golf course is that you can appreciate the beautiful layout
and surroundings that come with it, in addition to the benefit of getting a good workout as you
play.
For this style of play, you have many
lightweight walking bags that you can choose from which can carry your clubs, balls, a few tees, beverages and
so on. Just note that you will be carrying this for hours and exhaustion will always adversely impact your
game.
It has to be comfortable to carry, so look
for well padded shoulder straps which can either hang on one of your shoulders or you can choose the one that
has this criss-cross style with the bag hanging on your back.
Also look for one that has a fold out stand
so that your clubs and accessories are not on the ground, specially when it's wet or damp. It is also more
efficient since you can see all of your clubs and selecting one for your next shot is much
faster.
Although you can use a walking bag while
riding a cart, it is not advisable since the fit is not as secure and you just end up loosing or damaging your
clubs as they fall out of your cart.
Callaway Golf Bags - Cart
Bags
Cart bags are perfect for the older folks or even young ones who just prefer not to walk and carry stuff
as they play.
They are usually bigger with more
compartments, and they hold your clubs in these cylinders which prevent them from getting tangled as you play.
They are also much more durable if you choose to bring them when you travel. In tandem with a riding cart, it also
gives you the ability play quicker.
Since cart bags are not
designed to be carried, they are much heavier than a walking bag. The main advantage is that you can carry
more stuff and since they usually will have more compartments, your accessories are more organized.
When choosing a cart
bag, make sure they have features that can protect your clubs. If you have those expensive graphite club shafts,
make sure that the bag has good padding on the club dividers and that they extend to the whole bag. This
prevents the shafts from causing damage to each other. If you have steel shafts, it's not much of an issue
but it still helps if the heads are not hitting each other. Putting on club head covers is also a good idea
especially for your drivers and metal woods.
A quality cart bag should be sturdy enough to
stand on its base without falling over. Also make sure that it can fit securely in your riding cart
holder.
If you have these new power walking carts,
also check that the cart bag you choose will fit. The latest models can now be remote controlled, so you can
have the best of both worlds in terms of walking while at the same time not carrying anything since you have
r2d2 with your cart bag, right behind you with all of your stuff!
Callaway Golf Bags - Travel
Bags
Travel bags are important to ensure that your expensive clubs arrives with you in one piece. The last
thing you need is to have mangled clubs when you arrive at your golf vacation spot. You end up scrambling
to buy replacement equipment, both a major hassle and expense!
To avoid this, get a reliable and durable
travel bag that protects your equipment, preferable from one of the major brands. The Callaway golf travel bag
is one of the more reliable ones. They are usually well designed and made of tough materials. If looking at
other brands, look for solid construction/abrasion-proof/moisture-proof/tear-resistant qualities in the
bag.
The first line of defense you should think
about would be against airport baggage handlers! Think about the Samsonite commercial with the gorilla -- this
is what you need to protect your equipment from. That means go for travel bags with hard cases preferably if
your budget allows it.
Then think about size and weight and what you
will need to carry. Will it fit in the trunk of your car? How will I store this, post golf-vacation ? If I
find one that is almost bullet-proof, how much am I willing to pay? There are a lot of choices out there with
price averaging out to $200.

Callaway Golf Bags - 9.5 Tour Staff Rating: *****
Comments:
I bought this Black and Orange tour bag for around $220. Two reasons why I bought it. A lot of room to hold
most anything you need and it's a great looking bag with it's black and orange color. It even matches the head
covers on my woods. The size is not that big, with pockets that carries my water bottles. Construction looks
solid and no problems so far...

Comments:
I paid $162 for this, it's very stylish and well built, could have used a few more zippered compartments and
some waterproof compartment, but overall well crafted! I would recommend this to anyone who plays with a pull
cart, or riding cart. The bag does not have a built in stand, and no straps for both shoulders, so carrying
the bag is a bit uncomfortable.
Callaway Golf Bags - 3.8 Ultralight Stand Bag Rating: ****
Comments:
I purchased this at a local pro shop for $115. This is a great looking bag, mine is Orange/Blue/Black. It has tons
of different compartments and holds almost everything including your shoes. It's also very light with a 3-point
Strap, so it's very comfortable to carry even for 18 holes. The stand is solid and also one of the better stands I
have seen. My main
complaint about this bag is its size. It's only 8 inches in diameter and I have a lot of woods, hybrids
and putters. It makes it hard to fit everything into the bag. If you carry more than a 2 Woods you
probably won't be too happy with this bag. I would recommend the Callaway ION instead.
If this is going to be your only bag, I would recommend getting a cart bag instead. This one is not a
good fit if you are using motorized carts. When mounted to a cart, the legs get scratched from rubbing
up against the cart and the top of the bag tends to collapse making removal and replacement of your clubs
a bit difficult.
Overall, this is a great second bag when you are walking the course. It's light and comfortable, but you will
find the lack of space a problem.

I got this as a birthday present. The bag looks nice, the color even matches my drivers and fairway woods and
holds just about anything thing you can think of when playing. However, the layout makes getting your clubs
really difficult. Usually, you want your woods in the back and
your short irons and wedges closer to you in front when you play. Problem is they put the strap in front and I
end up turning the bag to often to get what I want. I think the ORG 14 has a more logical design in terms of
the dividers and where they put the straps, so am returning this unfortunately..
Callaway Golf Bags - Ion Carry Bag Rating: *****
Comments:
I purchased this for $105. This bag is great for carrying around on the course. It’s light and has a great
stand for support when you set it on the ground. The individual compartments keep my driver and irons
separated. For its size, the storage space is pretty decent. The ball holder is convenient when you need
to get a ball in a hurry. If you are looking for a bag that you can quickly take with you to the
practice range or playing 18 holes, this might be a great fit for you.
Callaway Golf Bags - 25th Anniversary Staff Bag Rating:
*****
Comments:
I got this as a gift from Callaway. so I didn't pay for it. If you go on their site, you will find that
the standard 10.5' staff bag sells for $280. Not sure if the 25th anniversary bag is for sale or not. This
is one of the nicest looking golf bags I've ever seen or used.
If you like a big bag, this is well worth looking into. It's got plenty of room for all your stuff. It's
designed for tour use, so you know it's got plenty of room for all kinds of things, including a pair of golf
shoes. The carry strap is also much nicer than most and it's quite comfortable to use. It has 8 zipped
pockets, and 2 easy access water bottle pockets. About the only thing I don't like about the bag is the weight.
It's heavy, but I guess it's not too heavy considering the size.
If you like to use a hand cart, you might have to do some research to find a cart that will work with this big
of a bag with so many large pockets. I'd have to turn the bag sideways if I was to use it on my BagBoy SC500
cart. Construction and quality is top of the line nice. Couldn't ask for a better made bag, or one with a better
design.
If you like to ride a cart or play in tournaments, this would be a great bag for you. If you like to
walk the course and carry you bag, you might want a smaller/lighter bag.
